Motion Alert Security System Project Combo — Arduino Nano + HC-SR501 PIR + Buzzer + Relay

Build your own Motion Alert Security System with this ready-to-use project combo from Xsortex HUB. This kit combines the Arduino Nano microcontroller with a HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor, Active Buzzer, Relay Module, and indicator LED — giving you everything needed to detect motion and trigger an alert or control an external device automatically.

Perfect for students building a security project, makers prototyping a smart home alarm, or engineers demonstrating motion-triggered automation. No soldering required — just wire it up on the included breadboard and start coding.

What’s Included in This Combo?

  • 1× Arduino Nano — ATmega328P, 5V, 14 digital I/O, 8 analog inputs, Mini-USB / Type-C
  • 1× HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor — Passive infrared sensor, 3–7m range, 110° detection angle, adjustable sensitivity & delay
  • 1× 3V Active Buzzer — Continuous tone buzzer for audible motion alerts
  • 5× 5mm Red LED — Visual indicator for motion detection events
  • 5× 220Ω Resistor — Current-limiting resistor for the LED
  • 1× 1-Channel Relay Module — 5V coil, 10A/250VAC contacts — control lights, sirens, or other AC/DC loads
  • Jumper Wires — male-to-female for breadboard connections
  • Breadboard — 400-point solderless breadboard for prototyping

How It Works

The HC-SR501 PIR sensor detects infrared radiation emitted by moving humans or animals. When motion is detected, the Arduino Nano triggers the buzzer for an audible alarm, lights up the red LED as a visual indicator, and activates the relay module to switch an external load (such as a siren, light, or door lock) on or off.

Key Specifications

  • Microcontroller: Arduino Nano (ATmega328P)
  • Motion Sensor: HC-SR501 PIR — 3–7m range, 110° cone angle, 5V
  • Alert Output: 3V Active Buzzer + 5mm Red LED (220Ω)
  • Relay: 1-Channel, 5V coil, 10A/250VAC — controls external AC/DC devices
  • Power: 5V via USB from Arduino Nano
  • Programming: Arduino IDE — beginner-friendly, no extra libraries required

Use Cases

  • Home and room intrusion detection alarm
  • Automatic light or fan activation on motion
  • Smart doorbell or visitor alert system
  • Engineering college security project
  • IoT motion logging with serial output
