ESP32 Wi-Fi RFID Smart Access Project Combo — ESP32 + MFRC522 + Relay + Buzzer
Build a Wi-Fi enabled RFID Smart Access Control System with this advanced project combo from Xsortex HUB. This kit combines the powerful ESP32 CP2102 38-Pin Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Board with the MFRC522 RFID Reader, a 1-Channel Relay Module, Active Buzzer, and Red LED — giving you a fully connected access control system that can authenticate RFID cards, control a door lock or electric strike via relay, and log access events over Wi-Fi to a cloud dashboard or mobile app.
Unlike basic Arduino RFID projects, this combo leverages the ESP32’s dual-core processor and built-in Wi-Fi + Bluetooth to enable remote access management, real-time notifications, and cloud-based access logs — making it ideal for advanced IoT projects and smart home applications.
What’s Included in This Combo?
- 1× ESP32 CP2102 38-Pin Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Board — Dual-core 240MHz, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, BT 4.2, 18 ADC channels, CP2102 USB-to-serial
- 1× MFRC522 RFID Reader Module — 13.56MHz contactless, SPI interface, includes RFID card & key fob, 3.3V logic
- 1× 1-Channel 5V Relay Module — 5V coil, 10A/250VAC contacts — controls electric door lock, strike, or solenoid
- 1× 3V Active Buzzer — Audible feedback for access granted / denied events
- 5× 5mm Red LED — Visual indicator for access denied events
- 5× 220Ω Resistor — Current-limiting resistor for the Red LED
How It Works
The MFRC522 reads the UID from an RFID card or key fob via 13.56MHz SPI communication. The ESP32 compares the UID against an authorised list. On a match:
- ✅ Relay activates — unlocks the door or electric strike for a set duration
- 🔔 Buzzer beeps once — access granted tone
- 🟢 LED stays off (or green if added)
On an unauthorised card:
- ❌ Relay stays off — door remains locked
- 🔔 Buzzer sounds a long alert — access denied tone
- 🔴 Red LED turns ON
With ESP32’s Wi-Fi, extend the project to send access logs to Firebase, Blynk, or a custom web server — and manage authorised UIDs remotely.
