How It Works

The Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor V2.0 measures the dielectric permittivity of the soil — a more accurate and durable method than resistive sensors. The analog output is read by the NodeMCU’s ADC pin. When moisture is adequate, the green LED stays on. When the soil gets too dry, the buzzer sounds an alert. With the ESP8266’s built-in WiFi, you can extend the project to send moisture readings to Blynk, ThingSpeak, or a custom web dashboard.
