UNO Gas & Smoke Warning Project Combo — Arduino UNO R3 + MQ-2 + Buzzer + Red LED

Build a simple yet effective Gas & Smoke Warning System with this beginner-friendly project combo from Xsortex HUB. This kit pairs the iconic Arduino UNO R3 with the MQ-2 Gas & Smoke Sensor, an Active Buzzer, and a Red LED — giving you a compact alarm system that detects dangerous levels of LPG, methane, smoke, or hydrogen and immediately alerts you with sound and light.

This is one of the most popular beginner Arduino projects — simple to wire, easy to code, and genuinely useful. Perfect for first-time Arduino users, school students, and anyone building a home safety demonstration.

What’s Included in This Combo?

  • 1× Arduino UNO R3 — ATmega328P DIP, 5V, 14 digital I/O, 6 PWM, 6 analog inputs, USB-B
  • 1× MQ-2 Gas & Smoke Sensor Module — Detects LPG, methane, smoke, hydrogen & propane; analog + digital output; 5V
  • 1× 3V Active Buzzer — Audible alarm on gas or smoke detection
  • 5× 5mm Red LED — Visual danger indicator when gas is detected
  • 5× 220Ω Resistor — Current-limiting resistor for the Red LED

How It Works

The MQ-2 sensor reads the concentration of combustible gases in the surrounding air via its analog output pin. The Arduino UNO reads this value and compares it to a safe threshold. When gas or smoke is detected above the threshold:

  • 🔴 Red LED turns ON as a visual danger alert
  • 🔔 Buzzer sounds a continuous alarm

When the air clears, the system resets automatically. The threshold is fully adjustable in the Arduino sketch.
